Our mission and services

The mission of the Centre for Anti-Oppression Studies is to develop resources to support the development of a network of individuals and organizations to provide ongoing leadership to promote anti-oppression education, action, and practise.

The Centre provides ongoing training to assist individuals, human service agencies, and communities to engage in anti-oppressive work and practice, as well as produces learning materials on anti-oppressive work and practice.

We engage in research regarding best practises in anti-oppressive work and sponsor community conferences, forums, and events to promote anti-oppressive learning in the community.

The Centre for Anti-Oppression Studies also promotes policy development and engages in advocacy regarding issues of social justice. We sponsor related community conferences, forums, and events on this topic and other initiatives, groups, and organizations working in the area of anti-oppression.
